Start making calls asap. You can’t ask her to help and should refuse if she offers. You can find someone.. just plan on spending a lot more $$

Thats awful for the woman and for you. If worse comes to worse, maybe you go do a shoot with her after the wedding. Have a family/friend take some group pics at the wedding though. But, at least it would give you an excuse to get dolled up again. Obviously thats not ideal but if you dont have the budget for a photographer it might be the only option.

Sucks that you are having to deal with this. Hope it all works out.

@mrsginmay:  I agree, start making calls ASAP.  I’m sorry this happened (for everyone involved.)

Also, if established photographers are booked, you might also try Craigslist of the local college for some unfounded talent.

I couldn’t agree with Pearberry more….  we don’t have the budget for a photographerand so we hired a photography student from a local college here in Chicago.  She is only charging us $200 for 4 hours of work plus cleaning up the photos!

@Ms.Dachshund:  +1  This would be fun anyway, and she would probably feel good about getting a chance to give you this gift at a later date.  Since you have some people who can get the wedding party shots, you could do it later with just the two of you and have some fun with it!

I agree with the other bees- start calling others asap. Unfortunatly, your probably the last thing on that poor woman’s mind right now. I am all for calling the local college/universities. Ask to speak to a professor in the media aesthetics/art department and ask them for recommendations. They usually work for super cheap beecause they can use you for experience, reference, and building their portfolio. Make sure to ask to see thier current portfolio  though if you go this route.
