Here is a BMR calculator: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/

Comes out at around 1250. Told you I was a midget (actually, I’m serious… I am a fraction of an inch away from being clinically classified as a midget… I’m really quite tiny, not your average person).

Tried 1200 cals before… but it doesn’t work for me. I have a metabolism like a slug. I managed to maintain my weight at 112lb for four years before (normal weight for my height). To do this, I had to go to the gym twice a day, and I won’t even describe the mental diet I had to follow. But for four years I basically ate nothing but fruit, vegetables, fish, seafood, and the occasional bit of lean meat. If I was desperate, I occasionally munched some seeds or nuts. I know I need to do it again if I want a BMI in the 20-23 range (which I dooooo)… but it’s just sooo hard…

Anyway… that aside… your trainer is still crazy. You are right. And the main thing is to be eating a balanced diet. I hope he’s not one of those people who is asking you to cut certain veg, because that is certifiable…

@Mrs.SplatterPaint:  This will sound harsh but, in that case, Darling Husband is being an idiot too if he won’t even listen to a doctor! Keep yourself healthy and keep an eye on Darling Husband to watch for health problems from malnutrition.

Contract or no I’d get rid of this trainer any way possible, threaten to sue for malpractice or negligence or whatever like some pp’s said if you have to and try to get out of the contract. Even if you can’t get out of the contract tell him to get lost and that you will expose his dangerous practices.

My brother tried to get me on this diet to lose alot of weight, a high protein diet so high in protein it could have caused my kidneys to fail. I’m still overweight but my darling brother looks sick as hell. He’s aged about 15-20years in 18 months!

No to carrots and tomatoes? Sorry, but that is *ing mental. It’s like these people who say “I’m doing Atkins, so I can’t have leafy veg, but I can have a cream cake”. Well, you may lose weight by entering ketosis, but it isn’t any good for you in the long run…

I would demand that this guy give you your money back for the time you have left, or you will report him!!

Can you file a complaint with someone? Is this through a gym or something where he’d have a supervisor? He needs to be held accountable for the crap he’s throwing out there! Working out that often and eating so little would make you lose muscle since your body wouldn’t have anything else to fuel itself on.

@Mrs.SplatterPaint:  wear the t-shirt and add “DON’T GO TO ____” in front of his name/company or something, HA! Or don’t. If he has fitness trainer certification can you complain to the certification board?

This is horrible!  I hate how trainers aren’t required to be certified here in America.  I’m going through the same thing with a group I’m doing.  The guy who is teaching was found by the owner in a park and the only fitness knowledge he has is that he played football in college.  I’m almost done with my contract and I will be so glad when I am!

@Mrs.SplatterPaint:  My friend did a show.  He did one.  He won.  But the reason he did one he because he almost DIED.  He also said his food intake was so low he was falling asleep behind the wheel, at work, even practically when standing up because of exhaustion from training and lacking nutrients.

Your trainer seems to have an eating disorder.
