@Mrs.SplatterPaint:  if you’re eating clean 950 sounds right? there’s only 100 calories in a pound of spinach. i have no idea what an “eating clean diet” is…… 🙂 im just fyi-ing because i was a vegan and a veg for 10+ years so i know i could eat tons of “clean” food and feel full and satisfied, and i wasnt even close to 1200. and before anyone gets on me about protein…100 calories of spinach has more protein than 100 calories of beef. 

i had a raging eating disorder in college so i KIIIIINDA know about the calories, but i dont know how well ill explain it:

so for petitie women, 1200 calories is what we burn to just live in a day–walking, sleeping, sitting, reading a book, breathing, etc. it’s no extra effort. our body just “burns” 1200 calories a day living. so everyday we refuel with food—that 950-1200 calories and this just helps to keep our body running. if you do this, you dont lose weight.

3500 calories = 1 pound.

-3500 calories = -1 pound.

so if you want to lose weight, you have to be in deficit. you eat the 950-1200 and youll burn that by just living a day…and then with working out you keep going until you’re -3500.
