Okay, I know that I’m probably just being a lttle over optimistic, but I just got a text from the BF saying, “now I know why you love Kohl’s so much”. Other than the obvious that Kohl’s is awesome, what is he doing there? Getting “something nice to wear tonight”.
UHM… what?! Is it bad that I just panicked and thought he might propose tonight?! *insert hyperventilation*
Please bring me down to Earth!!!

He could just be getting someting nice because it’s Valentine’s Day. Try to just enjoy the day for whatever it is, whether or not it brings a proposal.

Ya, that’s kind of what I’m hoping, but he NEVER buys new clothes… especially not without me. Just seems odd. *breathes deep*
On the bright side, he didn’t sound nervous when I just talked to him on the phone.

@sleepingbeauty88: Maybe he doesn’t buy clothes because he’s never looked at Khols before? 😛
Try not to anticipate too much, as I’m sure he’s going to do something nice, even if he doesn’t propose, and it woldn’t be fair to ignore his efforts because your expectations were higher. I think guys feel a lot of pressure on Valentine’s Day (which is wht some “give up” and don’t try – they feel they’re going to fail, so why bother?) to be stereotyipically romantic, so just try to relax and enjoy a nice evening…. and post tomorrow with pics if you DO end up with a sparkly, otherwise, join with the rest of us still waiting and still talk about reasons your Valentine’s was a good one, even sans proposal.

I just got an edible arrangements sent to my office. Balloon, teddy bear, and a note:
“Happy Valentines Day!! Now you can say you get stuff at work too. I love you, see you tonight”.
I mentioned a few weeks back that I really wanted chocolate covered strawberries or flowers sent to work. This is a first for either!
New outfit? Sending things to my office? Going to see MY movie tonight?… He’s making it really hard to not be suspicious!

@sleepingbeauty88: I’d be overthinking this too! But I agree it’s best to relax, he may just feel it’s time to treat you like a princess =) Maybe he just wants to impress you this evening by being uber romantic. My guy wouldn’t know romance if it bit him (or so he shows, maybe it’s hiding who knows) so I say roll with it!

Update! #1 – It did NOT happen, so let’s all breathe a sigh.
So, before I left work, he also texted me and said that he was excited for dinner. Which came at the time that I had finally calmed myself down. I got home, he wasn’t dressed up, but he had shaved his face. He ended up getting dressed up in new jeans, a collared shirt, and a pullover sweater. He’s only dressed like this one other time in the 5 1/2 years we were dating and that was at my company Christmas Party 2+ years ago. (see Avatar to the left)
We got ready and went out to dinner. We had a wonderful dinner, although I barely ate even a tiny bit of it. I was too nervous, especially when he said I had to get dessert. We hardly ever get dessert. I will admit that I had to excuse myself to the bathroom because I was anxious again and when I came back he said the lady was preparing our dessert. Preparing? What? When it came out I quickly looked all around for anything suspicious like a ring sticking in the whip cream or something… it wasn’t there.
After dinner we went to the mall. We walked right passed the diamond stores and just went to look at shoes. I kept my cool and didn’t let him know that I was literally panicking all day. By the time we went to the movie, I had officially realized that it was NOT happening tonight and was just overjoyed to have my stomach and breathing back. We watched Black Swan, which was incredibly CREEPY, and headed home for bed.
Note to all! Black Swan is definitely more a horror movie than anything else in my opinion. I had to have the dog snuggle on the bed with us all night, and even then I had a hard time sleeping.
So – not this time bees! But I still had a wonderful night with my honey and if he put as much effort into the proposal as he did Valentine’s Day, I have a feeling I won’t be disappointed 🙂
