Well, damn. I truly, truly wish this had come as more of a surprise. Was just re-listening to his Fresh Air interview the other day. He always seemed pretty upfront about his struggles with substances. Really awful. He was so great.

So awful. He was truly one of the most talented actors working today. It makes me sad to miss the 30+ years he could have contributed to the world.

Apparently he went to rehab / detox for 10 days last spring. Hindsight is 20/20 and all, but that seems like not nearly enough to address a heroin addiction :/

RIP, so sorry for his family.

Is it just me or do the substance abuse related deaths seem to be more frequent lately? So sad, my heart goes out to his children and family. 🙁 I don’t understand why anyone would touch heroin in the first place!

This is one of the only celebrity deaths that has made me truly sad. He was an AMAZING actor; he will be missed. I feel so terribly for his partner and their children.

Fiance and I were thinking about what they’re going to do for the final two Hunger Games movies. Plutarch is such an important character and I loved seeing him in that role – it will be strange to just substitute another actor in his place.

@RedheadMeggs:  there is a deadly kind of heroin running the rounds in the north east right now. They think he got some of that. I feel so sorry for his kids and family. What a tragic and needless lose.
