Wow – I don’t see any slackers here!  And I thought I was doing pretty good since I still have 9.5 months!  I have my venue (which has in house catering)… And Save the Dates… And thats it.  I’ve STARTED thinking about my dress, which Mom will make (see post with insiration board earlier today) and we know it will be Art Deco… Man, I’ve got to get on the ball!!!

We’re getting married May 25th and have already accomplished:

Venue

Menu for the reception (we’re doing a memorial day barbeque themed food spread)

My gown

My wedding shoes (RSVP Julie Lynn in red from Zappos)

Wedding bands

Bridesmaid dresses

Guest list is almost finalized

Photographer has been booked – we’re taking our e-pics on the 29th – which is 300 days from our wedding.

Wedding colors have been picked: Red, black, white

Cake topper purchased.

 

We are probably putting a deposit on flowers in October, and cake in November or December. I’m going to start my dress alterations in January, and Mr. Peppy will be picking suits/tuxedos then, too.

Hello May 2013 from May 2012.  🙂  You aren’t slacking – we haven’t even passed our 1-year engagiversary: Sept 15.  (That is, we hadn’t even been engaged yet at this time last year)

I decide to give this to my girls when asking them. They were pretty in-expesive to make (about $8). Each girl’s card is a little different, in the sense that I made the little paper doll with different dresses to match each girls fashion style.

The dresses say… “As I prepare for the day, that im to be a bride, it would mean the world to me, to have you sipping by my side”.

In the box there is a mini bottle of rose henkell champagne that ive asked all the girls to save so that we can drink it together on the day of my wedding.

Im hoping to give each girl a Tiffany champagne glass as a part of their gift with something enscribbed on the bottom on the day of the wedding (only $20).

So far, they all seem to like it lol but im not sure if theyd tell me otherwise.

Wow- so I’m way behind all of you! Just started thinking about a serious timeline and our date is May 4. We’re having a small (40 guest wedding) with an afterparty where I grew up in June and where he grew up in July. The moms are planning most of the after parties so while a lot of the details I have are a smaller scale, there’s still a lot to juggle. I think it’ll be ok though- any other May brides around my timeline? 

This is where I am:

– dress bought, first fitting this week

– heels bought, but might also get some wedges for outside/the after party

– ceremony booked (we’re renting a big house we’re staying at with guests and having the ceremony at)

– bus from house to restaurant booked

– restaurant lined up but we still need to mail deposit

– we’re having nieces and nephews as our wedding party, we asked all of them

– we’re having our immediate family take different roles in the ceremony, we’ve asked all but 2 of them

– sent STDs

– made boutinieres for all guests

– photographer booked

 

STILL NEED TO DO:

– buy my fiance’s suit

– buy the kids’ clothes

– figure out hair and makeup

– write the ceremony

– create playlists

– figure out invites, guest book, video?, welcome and bathroom baskets, bar at house, pics of us growing up to display, rehearsal dinner, jewelery, family gifts

– make centerpieces and decorations

– buy favors (bottles of wine)

– make veil

 

Am I forgetting anything major?

Oh wow.. ok, I’m a May 18th bride and so far we have

-booked ceremony and reception venue

-bought wedding rings

-picked our colors (peach/coral/pale pinks, cream, gold

-picked most of the bridesmaid/FG dresses (2 more to go)

-bought bridesmaid/FG gifts

-booked our photographer

-booked our florist (still need to finalize the details)

-booked dj (well this is a friend of my dads)

-ordered favor boxes (but still need to assemble all 200 of them)

-ordered our invitations (but still have to address them all 100 of them)

-ordered my dress of course (2 of them to date.. one for ceremony and one for reception) plus all accessories to go with it.

-we have a guest book, thanks to the photographer

-ordered a card box

-ordered the cake and a stand for it

-booked officiant

-booked 1948 cadillac limo

-orders place cards

-booked hair and make up for EVERYONE in the bridal party including moms

We still need to work on…

-speeches

-mens attire

-groomsmen gifts

-music selection

-order vases for our centerpieces

-make whoopie pies for our favors total of 400 ish *what am I getting into?*

-order programs that include menus to save paper!

-seating chart

 

and now im drawing a blank but im sure there is more… but i really hope not

OMG I am just not on the ball with all this stuff. So far I have the venue (it has ceremony site and reception site). I get it from May 3rd – May 5th. I have a deposit on the linens, deposit on my dress, tableware is taken care of but need stemware. I still need to put a deposit down on the DJ. I am lucky because my Uncle is a professional photographer and is doing the wedding as a gift to us. My Dad and Step-Mom are amazing cooks (our venue has a DIY catering kitchen and bbq’s outside). So my Step-mom will be cooking some top notch Phillipino food and my fiance’s family are amazing at BBQ’ing up Mexican food (yum) so that is all taken care of. I know my theme and most of it will be DIY so I need to get cracking. I work and go to school . . . and have kids so wedding planning has been pushed aside lol. I have finals in two weeks though and a break so I expect to be updating my wedding stuff on here real soon!

I am a May 18th Bride I see several 17tha dn 19th brides.. WOOHOO! What a great weekend 🙂

This is what I have done so far:
 – bought my dress, veil, and the bra Davids Bridal sells
– cake is chosen
– ring bearer pillow/flower girl outfits and stuff is already bought
– flowers are chosen
– reception deposit is paid for
– dj is done
– food is chosen
– centerpieces and other decorations are done for the reception
– just bought the little bells to ring for the ceremony for kissing
– photographer
-hair person
– make up person 

things to do:
– send out invitations which we will be doing in a few weeks
– bridesmaid dresses
– not everyone has had their tux fitted

@Romantigua:  I’m a May 2013 bride, almosty have my venue paid for.  Got my caterer taken care of!   I haven’t went dress shopping yet, but only because i’m trying to lose a few pounds.  I’m about to send out my invites soon!  In next week or so.  Next obstacle is centerpieces! OMG im so nervous about those i want to diy because of the cost but i’ve never been good at that!  So i hope i can get it all together before then !

also got my photographer have our rings ordered they will be ready any day now!!! Reception is just aboiut paid for, i’m getting there!

May is fast approaching!

According to my crate and barrel iphone app, 91 days! Yikes!

It definitely feels like everything is starting to come together, where previously I had a bunch of nothing to do!

Most recently I:

Purchased all candy for the buffet

Ordered 4 shoes to try from Zappos

Narrowed down my jewelry choices

Purchased our bands

Hired a videographer

Ordered envelopes.

 

Soon I have to:

Pick out the groom’s and groomsmens’ ties

Have my first fitting (still waiting for the dress)

Select my shoes and jewelry

Mail the invites (first week in March)

Make various signs (photobooth, candy buffet, thumprint tree)

Decide what the escort cards will be/make them

Have hair/makeup trial

Book transportation

Attend my shower/bachelorette

Decide on bridesmaid gifts

 

And probably so much more that I’m not even thinking about!
