I found the ring!!
HOLY *bad expletive word*!!!!!
I am SO stupid! – I have been so good not looking for it. BUT…I have always been one of those people who just can’t help herself. I always went searching in my parents room looking for Christmas presents. I just could never help myself!
I have only found the box…I haven’t looked. All of you need to stop me looking in it and ruining the surprise. I really want it to be a surprise!
Thank goodness SO is due home any minute and I won’t have a chance to look while it’s fresh in my mind.
OMG hive it’s happening soon…its got to!!

@Novella: hint that you found it, or might find it, so he moves it.
Something like, “Oh, I was putting some of your laundry away earlier and your sock drawer was really messy, so I folded your socks for you.” (assuming it’s in his sock drawer, obv.) – something to make him go, “OMG she might find it!” and re-hide.

yes! get him to rehide it – don’t look!!! it will ruin it for him and for you as well! be good, please!

I agree you have to make him re hide it… OH and DONT LOOK!!
Dont look! When BF isn’t home make some plans to go out so you aren’t in the house and tempted to see it. I also agree that you should hint about re-hiding it so you won’t find it.

def make him rehide and no more snooping- I found the ring box too so I know how you feel- *yay*

Oh, I don’t think I’d last longer than 2 minutes not telling him I found it. I’m so bad at keeping secrets!

I’m gonna give you a wedding bee issued restraining order in proximity to that box!
Uh oh! I agree with everyone else, don’t look! I know it’s hard, wilpower, you can do it!

If you look, it might be obvious that the ring isn’t a surprise when he proposes, and that’d be really sad for him. Plus, I think if you look, it’s going to make the anticipation all the worse.
If it were me, I’d straight up be like, “Look, I was putting away some things and found a jewelry box. It may be something special for me, or it may be earrings for your grandma’s birthday, but either way, it’s none of my business. I suggest you hide it somewhere else before temptation gets the better of me and I open it!”

@Eva Peron: You crack me up! But I second that motion for a bee restraining order!!!!
STOP! And back away from the ring!!!!!

The temptation must be KILLER. brutal!

I took some advice and knew he would be home soon – I happened to have a pile of his clothes that he was going to put away later so I made sure when I heard him coming in that I was putting his things away and then I took a moment to explain to him exactly where I had put them – some being on the shelf where the ring was hidden. I haven’t been alone in the house without him since then and won’t be for a while now which is good. Hopefully he took the hint. He said that he was going to take me to a bridal expo on the weekend so I might get lucky before then…but…i’m not counting my chickens before they hatch because i’ll just be disappointed and we don’t want that 🙂
