Um, yeah that’s really strange! Why would anyone think that’s okay to say?!

People say this about me and my fiance as well.  We have similar bone structure (i.e. noses and cheek bones) and build, but I’m blond and blue eyed and he’s dark haired and brown eyed.  I don’t think we look related at all, but apparently some people think so and feel to the need to let us know.  I think we look good together because we “fit” but I’ve never thought we looked thaaat much alike!

Weird!  I had a friend try to explain Nip/Tuck to me and the FH once and he went on and on about how me and FH could actually be bro and sis.  It was kind of gross.  I don’t know why ANYONE would think that’s an appropriate thing to say!

You should just throw it back at them and say, “oh, we’re first cousins, but that’s allowed in this state and studies show it has no genetic consequences.”  (Because it is in most states.) See what they say.  😀

I’m not sure I would call it rude, but it’s weird.  I had a friend say that about Fiance and I, because we both have light brown hair and very blue eyes, and my response was just, “yeah, I know, it’s how I know our kids will be incredibly cute.”

Don’t sweat it, you sound like a very good looking couple.

Omg, what is wrong with people?  I am always always amazed at the crap people think its ok to say out loud!  I’m sure you don’t look alike, they probably are noticing that you guys look good together but that’s their awkward attempt at saying it.  People can be so strange!

I get that all the time! I just look at the person who said it like they are stupid and say “ok??” in a very sarcastic way. The they usually mumble something incohearent and walk away, lol. Just dont let it get to you gorgeous!

I got this a lot with one of my exes.  He actually did look like my real brother so it kinda made sense but still, it’s not a nice thing to say.

I get this all the time. People don’t know if I look like my brother more (only a yr apart and everyone always thought we were twins) or my Fiance. I usually just joke and say, “well we know what our kids will look like”.

Ok that is VERY rude. I think it about people all the time though. I’ll look at wedding blogs and photos and thing “wow…they look eerily similar to one another.” But I’d never say it out loud! Some people just have no idea…
