So my Fiance and I signed a contract for our all-inclusive wedding package in early June for our wedding next June. When we sent in our deposit check by mail I sent an email a week later to be sure they had received it. I got a pretty snippy reply saying they had received it but they were in peak wedding season so we wont be contacted by a planner until September or October. And to just look at pictures for now to get ideas because it would be disrespectful for them to focus on anyone other then their current brides. Well i never expected to start planning right away I just wanted to be sure my three grand didn’t get lost in the mail! Well it’s now October and we haven’t heard anything but because I got such a snippy reply last time I am hesitating to ask about a timeline.
I should just email them right? Or maybe wait abother couple of weeks and then ask?

You are paying for a service- contact them whenever the hell you want. It was rude of them to be snippy with you. They aren’t your folks, they are a business, you gave your part of the deal they need to start with theirs. Also I’m a huge proponant of setting a good first impression with vendors, don’t be a b but also don’t be a door mat.
Sorry they were rude but you def need to email/call/in-person meet.

You sent them three grand? You have EVERY right to email them with any questions. I can’t believe how rude they are being to you! I would send them an email kindly asking about the timeline and ANYTHING else you want to know (Uh, hi? It’s your wedding, you’re allowed to know what’s going on) and if they try to respond in a rude manner, I would take myself down there and talk to them in person.

It’s October, I would definitely call. And you are going to be paying them thousands of dollars, so you deserve to know what’s going on.
I’d also give them the benefit of the doubt, perhaps you just received a response from someone with an attitude problem – hopefully that person doesn’t speak for the rest of the staff.

I agree with the PP – you’ve waited plenty of time and you’ve already put in a lot of money so you deserve a response. I also hope you get to work with someone else! Have you checked their review on Weddingwire to see if others have had issues with their customer service? Or sometimes in reviews people mention the name of the person they work with – you might be able to scout out a different person from the venue to work with!

Did you contact the person with whom you will be working with the entire time? If thats the one you’re supposed to work with from now on Id personally cotact a manager, forward the email you received, and ask to have someone else re-assigned to you. They shouldnt be adding to your stress and be getting snippy with you. NOT ACCEPTABLE

Thanks ladies. the woman I emailed with is the coordinator. She’s the one who assigns wedding planners so I won’t have to work with her much. I’ll definitely contact them soon. I was just worried I was being a bridezilla! Lol thanks for affirming me! I’ll put my foot down!
