Today I have spent the majority of my time on music-
I am a music FREAK! I love how music can strengthen or in some cases weaken, any mood… this is key to me throughout our ceremony and reception
As I was looking up music to be played throughout our ceremony I was stuck on playing music during our vows. I have a few rough sketches of how my vows will go but nothing was concrete and they say the flow of the music should go with the movement of your words so as to not be sobbing over sweet nothings while Godsmak is roaring in the background if you catch my drift…
So I was scrolling away when the thought of movie theme songs came to play…I’m a movie buff as well… I thought how perfect some fun movie themes would be to introduce our wedding party… then I thought of one of my all time favorite movies…and although very sad the music was astounding… I looked up a song I was thinking of and wouldn’t you know it my Fiance began dancing around my head along with all the wonderful things I wanted to say to him… The music and the writing took over and before long my vows wrote themselves…
I practiced them out loud a few times with the music playing along and I still cant seem to get myself to stop my FUgly cry before I’m done but it just shows me how much this all really means… Vows I knew would be the hardest thing for me because I am a writer, and what I say to him then and there will be a footnote to what our marriage will mean forever. But they came to me! And they are beautiful!
Did you have trouble writing your vows? Did music help you? What was your biggest inspiration in writing them?
