Ugh.  That’s a bit disturbing.  At least you understand her poor moral tendencies and you don’t take it so personally!  You’re a good daughter-in-law.

I dearly love my Future Mother-In-Law, but she has some qualities that annoy me. She has no common sense. I have seriousy stoped her from being scammed a few times. She also bows down to whatever my Future Father-In-Law wants even to her own detriment and has serious boundary issues. I guess her father was quite abusive so that type of codepenent nature just stuck with her, but it gets on my nerves. I just wish she would stand up to er husband and her son (my FI) once in a while. I am actually tryingto conince I not to move or old couch to his parents. His mom doesn’t want it there, but she won’t actually just tell Fiance no. I told her justto not let him do it but she just can’t.

Vent over.

I think it’s human nature to take a bit of pleasure in the misfortune of others when you’ve been having a hard time yourself. In comparison to my Mother-In-Law, she sounds like a walk in the park, lol.

Ryansgirl:  ITA. I work with someone that’s like that and I just don’t share anything that can be used against someone with them at all anymore.

I have a Mother-In-Law just like this. She is very jealous of what her sons do for their wives. She can be generous and thoughtful but I never know which Mother-In-Law I am getting. For this reason, I keep my distance. It is easy because we live so far away from each other.

My Mother-In-Law is very insecure and very jealous of, well, just about everyone. She’s the type of person that has a chip on her shoulder about and towards everyone and everything. Anyway, my Mother-In-Law just cannot stand when Darling Husband and I travel places or buy something together. She always makes snide comments like “oh well it must be nice” and “clearly you can afford this when it is only the two of you to worry about” or “is all of this really necessary?”. LOL…it’s a damn shame.

She also tends to OVERINVOLVE herself with her sons’ affairs. She just can’t stand not knowing every.little.detail.about.everything. Some of the things she asks and says to her sons and to other people that know them makes me shake my head.

Ryansgirl:

Yes, I am very lucky.

My SIL is envious that we live so far away because she has to deal with our Mother-In-Law far more often than we have to.
