Ok for those Bee’s who made their own cupcakes, or had talented family do it, how in the world did you transport 100 cupcakes to your venue? And how many cupcakes do you count on for guests? All but 5, are adults, so few children. Buttercream in the heat of August, I am nuts!

I am making cupcakes too! We are doing whipped icing though, I’m not sure if that would hold up better in the heat? We have appox 250 guests (all adults) and are making close to 200 cupcakes…. we will have cookies and other desserts in addition. As far as transport goes – if you don’t have the plastic carriers – a good idea is to save old shirt boxes and cut holes in them!

Hfrey, WOW thanks! There are lots of post Christmas boxes laying around, will start cutting them up now. The venue is air conditioned, but getting them there will be a challenge. I think I will research a few more recipes for frostings. I wanted a pretty swirl for the frosting, and was afraid whipped wouldn’t hold the shape.
