In the grand scheme of things this won’t matter…at all.  You are marrying a wonderful man and at the end of the day you will be a married lady.  That’s what matters.  If this is something you can’t let go, find a nice spiral staircase or something nearby to stage pictures on.

halahala:  this is the first of many many adaptations that you will have to make to your “dream wedding” throughout the planning process. You will also be surprised on how much your vision changes through your planning as other things change. Don’t worry though because you just get a new version of your dream wedding, it’s exactly what you want, just different. There will also be a lot more stress to come, things that will make a missing staircase seem like a daydream. Let this go and move on.

On a more serious note, what’s more exciting: walking down a staircase, or walking towards the person you want to spend the rest of your life with? If it’s the latter, I think you just need to let it go. You’re going to encounter more stressful problems when wedding planning, and you’re going to have to learn to just let some things go.

You’re marrying the person you love. The little details like how you make your entrance really won’t matter to you on your wedding day.

I mean, I think your only options are (a) get over it, (b) build a staircase, or (c) find a different venue, and of these, I’d go with (a).

Maybe you can find a nice place for pictures?!  There is a library by me with a beautiful spiral staircase that I always throught would make a breathtaking wedding photo op.  If you were planning on doing a “first look” you could always find a place with a nice starcase (may be hard to fin) and have your Fiance stand at the bottom.  Sorry you couldn’t fufill the dream 100% but I’m sure your day will be just perfect however it works out xo

I think you just have to be practical. I really wanted to get married under a willow tree. I couldn’t find a venue that had one. But the venue we did book is wonderful in its own right. And ultimately, as PPs said, you’re marrying the love of your life, which is way more important than the placeholder wedding you’ve had in your head all this time ๐Ÿ™‚

halahala:  are there any nice homes near your venue? when we went to book hotel blocks for our international friends we learned we were getting married during a major regatta in our city and everything was CRAZY expensive (like…the crappy Holiday Inn was $400/night crazy). We used AirBNB and were able to rent a gorgeous mansion near our venue for $700/night (split between 10 people). We ended up using it to get ready and I came down the stairs as part of our first look. Maybe you can find something similar!

Go find a place that does have a staircase , maybe a fancy restaurant or a venue some distance away – take a w/e vaca dressed up with your Fiance and have him watch you walk down the staircase  (this is something I would do) its a must.  Just because you can.
