Yay to you for positive thinking as well!  And, I love your game plan!  I wish I did that in my pre-engagement months, because it would have made the stress of dress shopping (and wanting to lose weight before going shopping) that much lighter!

I’d also encourage you to do selfish things that you want to do.  This is the time in your life when you really don’t have to put SO’s desires ahead of yours (to a degree, of course!) so live it up NOW!  ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the positive spin on things. As soon as Ifound out the SO was thinking rings I started going to the regular and eating better too. I think of it as losin the weight for the wedding but in no rush to do so. It can come off slowly and safely and I can enjoy little indulgences because I have plenty of time to get in shape. Happy waiting!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Good thought! Absence supposedly makes the heart grow fonder too right?!

I’m doing exactly the same… my SO said he’s going to propose in the next six months but told me this about about 2/3months ago. This has stopped me from eating that extra bit of turkey and stuffing over Christmas, and i’ve lost just over 1/2 a stone (8/9pounds) slowly and can now fit into clothes I could before, because i’m not under any pressure to do so! I already feel better about myself, and don’t worry quite so much about the lack of bling on my finger! ๐Ÿ™‚

I already knew I needed to work on getting healthier, but you have inspired me to make a better effort!  I love that if I work out now and eat better, it’ll hopefully pay off when I finally do get engaged.  Also, I caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror at lunch today and thought – am I a fat girl now?  So definitely need to get on it!
