You’re so close, and so far at the same time, right? I’m sure you know this, but it will be much, much better once you are past the stress of the MCATs and are done with your physics class. It sounds like you’re kind of burned out and just need a break. Can you take a day (or even part of a day) off and just go do something for yourself? Get a manicure, get your hair cut, go for a walk, have coffee with a friend…something to distract you from thinking about the same things over and over.

Just take it one day at a time–it’s always the hardest when you get so close to finishing but you’re not quite there yet. I definitely went through the same thing every semester during finals, and I still experience the same thing every time I’m getting close to wrapping up a project at work. Just put your head down and push through this last bit, and things will be so much better. Think how great it will be to be done with this phase of your education and be able to enjoy the summer with your SO (or hopefully, Fiance at that point!).

How is everything going otherwise? Are you and your SO doing well in general? Do you have anything (even something small) to look forward to–doing something fun for Memorial Day maybe?

@Quackadoo:  I totally understand how you feel. I am less than 11 weeks away from graduating with my master’s degree… and an end to years and years of long distance. I cannot wait, I am so emotionally checked out here, but I have SO MUCH WORK TO DO. And I’m waiting on an engagement by October, and I’m like, please, just get me a job, move me to his town, and then BAM, let’s get this show rolling, PLEASE.

@Quackadoo:  I am so impatient. Long distance, yeah, it sucks, it’s been on and off, some periods of long distance, short periods of being together, maybe a few months, but it’s been basically long distance, with visits every 2-4 months, hmmm, since 2009, I guess. But we’re very excited to be living together. Right now, though, this engagement timeline is already a compromise with SO, who really wasn’t planning on it until mid 2013, but since I’m moving, we sort of had to talk that out lol. Still. I thought it would be easier with a timeline. NOT REALLY. I’m stressing about finding a job, actually getting all this work done, how I’m going to move 500 miles away with all my stuff, let alone FINDING AN APARTMENT. OIAHTSOUHISUGHSEUKGHSGEYDJSYGS

@Quackadoo:  Apparently that’s called “REAL LIFE.” No one tells you that part!

@Quackadoo:  How old are you and your SO? Just curious. I’m 23/he’s 25.
