Did anyone else have just one outfit for engagement pics? I always see people with 3-4 different outfits in theirs, and most done professionally.
We’re doing a pretty informal session on Sunday with my FI’s BIL’s cousin. She did some family pics for their side last year and they turned out very well. It’ll be at the same time as his nephews 2-year pics, too. Since it’s so informal, I am only able to have one outfit (which is fine)… which I am still not sure on. *decisions, decisions*
We’re just using them for our guest book, and can use a couple of the shots from last years session as well. One of those pics were used on Christmas Cards, and I doubt anyone would remember that anyway!

We had a 2 hour engagement session and we only had one outfit. We were originally planning on two outfits, but we were having so much fun that we kinda forgot to change. Our location had a lot of variety of scenery, so all of the shots still looked different from each other even though the outfits were the same.

We are planning on taking pictures up at the college we both went to, which will have a lot of different places for photo opportunities. They finally planted the flowers and the trees are finally getting their green (yeah spring!). I am hoping it’ll be like yours where they’ll all look different regardless.

Our engagement shoot is tomorrow. We only have an hour, so I decided on just one outfit because I think it we would lose too much time if I changed. We are also just going to use the photos for our guest book and maybe an engagement announcement.

I prepared like…8 outfits (‘just in case,’ I sez to myself), and ended up just wearing the same dress because it was the most versatile.

We just did one outfit; didn’t actually occur to us to do two. We did our engagement pictures quite late in the game (the week before the wedding, actually), so we did do a wardrobe change. We both had different outfits for ceremony, and reception, so to save time on our wedding day, we did our reception outfit photos during our engagement session. But, if not for that, we’d have just done one outfit each.

We just did our 2 hour session last weekend and we had 2 outfits, but I think the only reason we managed to do that was because we shot in our neighborhood so it was easy for us to run home to change. If we had gone to some other location, we would’ve done 1.

I decided on one outfit. Just that was causing me such a headache that I refused to do a second. Fiance was more than happy to see me put my own limit on my game of Ken Doll, so that he didn’t have to be a grouch about it.

I wore one outfit. Fiance and I both brough lt a change of clothes but never ended up switching outfits.

Our session was 2 hours, we had 2 outfits. One was dressier the other was jeans and hoodies (a Canadian hockey hoodie for me and an Irish rugby hoodie for him.) I love them both. The hoodies are ‘us’. But I’m really happy we have the nicer outfits too. Can you do a quick change? FI wore jeans for his dressier look, so he just had to change shirts. I am a quick change artist, so I changed in a bathroom stall. I left my hair/make up the same. It literally took me minutes to change (I would go dressy to casual again, its much easier.)
If you’re just doing one outfit, find something that is very ‘you’. That’s my only advice.

I think one outfit is good enough unless you’re getting pictures at drastically different locations. For example, when we were thinking of some indoor shots and beach shots, it seems impossible that we would wear one outfit. Now that we’ve decided on an outdoor greenery feel, it doesn’t make sense to change. Hair and makeup will be the same anyways.

We wore 1 outfit…. and shared it 🙂 just kidding. We each wore 1 outfit for our engagement pictures. I WISH I wouldve changed. The dress I wore looked awful from the back. I cried when we picked up the engagement pictures, because out of the 300 shots I only found 4 that I liked. Which is veru uncommon for me- usually I dislike 4 pictures out f hundreds.
Wear as many as you like!

I went with only one outfit (a dress) and I was good with the decision. I had brought along a jean jacket, in case I wanted to use that make it look “different”, but the weather was so hot yesterday that I felt it wasn’t necessary.
The place we went had a ton of options for different picture looks, so that should add some variety to them. We should get them back in the next week and I am excited to see them!
