Our Crate and Barrel one was hardly toughed either, but the BBB was almost empty by the time the wedding came. I think it is because the prices are a little better and BBB has so many coupons:)

I can definitely relate! Our BB&B registry has taken quite a beating. It’s nearly halfway gone. Our Target one just recently started seeing a little more action, and our Macy’s registry has barely been touched. I think the other two places are more convenient for our guests, especially with BB&B having their free gift wrapping stations. Macy’s is also a bit more expensive, but we loved our linens and bedding from there.

That happened to my Future Sister-In-Law and her now husband. Her Macy’s registry had basically nothing by the end. But her other registry was barely touched. Her other registry was for their business which a lot of people disagreed with using for their wedding (People thought it was wrong for the courple to make money off of gifts that were given to them.)

If I see the two names, I automatically think BB&B will be the cheaper route. May be their thoughts.

Our registries were barely touched – I’m 99% sure it’s because we didn’t include registry info in our invites (shower or wedding) and people didn’t go to our wedding website to find out.

I think a lot of people take advantage of the BBB 20% discount coupons!

I was stressing a bit that lots and lots of people were going off registery, but I would say that 80%+ of our gifts ended up being gift cards or cash, which is the best gift anyway!

I had issue with crate and barrel where nothing showed up as bought from the registry – and some I picked up myself so I know I told them.

Do most guests have a local Crate and Barrel?  We are registered there, but figured that most locals would prefer our Macy’s registry because we don’t have one here.  ASo far they’ve been hit about equally (meaning one gift a piece haha) except for my Dad who for some reason bought us 10 things off of the C&B registry.

Same with mine. My Macys registry is almost empty, Target is about half full and Crate hasn’t had much activity (besides my mom buying me some stuff she knew I wanted ;)) Hopefully will pick up, otherwise I will have to use the completion program to buy a bunch of stuff hahah!

We have BB&B and Crate & Barrel as well. We’re too far out to really be getting gifts yet, but I am interested to see how it plays out. Some people are just floored that we don’t have a Target registry (I guess that’s what the cool kids do?) but honestly, there’s nothing I want there that couldn’t come from BB&B at a perfectly fine range of prices. I’ve heard of lots of brides having issues with Target registries and it’s not worth it to me.

Our C&B registry is mostly decorative. I liked their table linens better, picture frames, a few kitchen accessories. Plus, we do like their furniture and might register for a coffee table or bed. We definitely don’t expect to GET those things, but hopefully the C&B registry will clue in the gift-card givers that this is the place we’d ultimately make a big purchase and they’ll choose to do a gift card there.

Also people like to shop in person rather than online when they can for wedding gifts and not everyone has a Crate and Barrel but almost every can say they have a nearby Bed Bath and Beyond.  Its probably just a matter of convenience.  And never forget how wonderful people can be at procrastinating.  The last wedding I went to I shopped for just days before (mostly because I was invited only one week before).  I’m sure many will shop up until the last moment when they remember how tasteless it is to not get a gift.  When they see that everything at BB&B is taken they will have to get you stuff from the other store.
