Yes! Shellac (or any of the other gel polish brands) are my favorite! My nails always grow so much when I have a gel manicure.

I loved it when i got it!  However, I can’t afford to keep getting manis, so I had to go in and get it scraped off when it was chipping.  AND that cost money too :-/

Yes Yes Yes! I love Gel Polishes in general.

@mija22:  Manicures with Shellac or any gel polish in general will only run you about $20

I liked them because they last. And then they last some more, and last, until they grow out or until you have them removed. I didn’t care for the removal, which is soaking your fingers in actone and then scraping really hard to get the stuff off. So I usually got a french manicure when I got shellac, and just let it grow out.

@SincerelyShe:  Not in DC. The happy hour special at one place is $25, so you can imagine the normal prices. That being said, they are wonderful. Worth it if you want the mani to last for a while or are looking to grow your nails out. I don’t think you’re really supposed to do this, but I peel off the gel myself… oops?

@CaliHoya:  Exactly. I said “I wish!”

Here in Chicagoland they run you about $40 or more. I actually just saw a livingsocial coupon for $19.

I love shellac manicures! It’s the only way my nails grow and stay neat! I do way too much scrubbing and dishes for anything else to be effective. Shellac manicures cost around $25.00 in Toronto.

@CaliHoya:  Not in Boston, either. A gel mani, regular pedi costs me about $60. So that’s not a regular thing for me.

@CaliHoya:  I live in Silver Spring now, so I get my Shellac for $20.  The few times I have gotten a mani in DC it has cost me $25 for the regular price.  I don’t think I’d ever pay $50 or $60 for it though. Yikes!

@PinkPinstripes:  “You can remove it yourself if you want, super easy.”

Please, do share!  I tried to peel it off myself, but it was as if I was peeling off the top layer of my nail, too. Eek!
