My husband and I were from different cities, so I got a really small framed and customized heart that was cut out of two maps of our respective cities. 1st year anniversary is paper, or whatever. Easy and cute! He still keeps it on his desk <3

Like PP said, 1st year is the paper anniversary. Maybe you could find tickets to something you’d both enjoy?

my husband got me a watch with a bike wheel as the face (modern – clocks). i got him beagopoly, a board game (traditional – paper).

we didn’t discuss a budget per say, but we usually don’t buy each other expensive gifts anyway.

My husband got me a (paper) gift certificate for a special anniversary sundial (clock) that I was able to have made specifically for one of the sunny window sills in our house – and I remember how he was so happy to have figured out how to give both the traditional and modern in one cool gift. The little glass anniversary sun clock makes awesome rainbows on the family room floor when the sun shines and also has a special date line that the time shadow follows on our anniversary each year. Very cool, and fun to look forward to our anniversary as the shadow gets closer to the line every year! I don’t remember what they are called but you can find it online with a search…that’s how I find them when I need a good wedding gift.
