We are in the midst of planning our wedding and while it is a year out there is a lot that we have to consider because of Department of Homeland Security rules. One of them is how to work the RSVP. For our guests who are not cruising with us in addition to their name, we have to get their date of birth and Drivers License or Passport number–instense, right? We are trying to figure out how to go about this. We have a modge podge of guests from many generations (fiancee’s grandma is older than the women’s suffrage amendment) so we are thinking about doing traditional RSVP cards AND setting up the RSVP function on our website. That way if people lose the cards, there’s no excuse not to RSVP. Once we get an idea of who’s not sailing (and there aren’t many) we can contact them via phone or email for the information.
I guess what we’re wondering is–has anyone else had success or awesome failure with online RSVP?
