Most wedding dresses you purchase online are from China.  Others are bridal shops that you’d pay full price for – and if they are anything like their shops, they have a no return policy. Check their site for return policies first.

I think with the exeption of shops like Ann Taylor, Nordstrom, JCrew who have bridal dresses online most chinese dressmakers rarely allow returns.

@JLR07262014:  If you want to return the dresses I suggest you try to stay away from China based online stores. Bridepower.com Will let you return the dress if you are not happy with it. Its the store featured on I Found The Gown on TLC

@JLR07262014:  Try searching Jasmines Bridal Shop on the Bee to read some amazing stories and see actual photos of dresses Bees have had made by this China company.

There is one main post now at Part VI and a number of other individual posts.

Everyone has their own opinion, but seeing you are a new Bee thought I should point out this option to you.

Depending on your budget and style, I would also try BHLDN and places like Outnet (not a bridal store, but they have many bride-appropriate options). They both have pretty good returns policies in my experience.

If you don’t mind sample dresses, there are a variety of stores that DO sell online and allow returns.

Bridepower.com is one of them.  I actually got my dress from their brick and mortar store (Vows), but my dress was one of the ones I was stalking online!  I think you can order up to two dresses at a time from them, and return them if you don’t like them… but I would check the return policy to be safe.  I would highly recommend trying on dresses though in a local store to get an idea of what styles look best on you.

There are a few preowned/consignment stores that will ship dresses and let you return too.  You just have to keep looking and looking.  Most bridal stores don’t allow returns or refunds period, so finding an online retailer that does is a jackpot!
