I’m on a tight budget and timeline, so our photographer suggested I check this place out for dresses, but its 3 hours away and I don’t want to drive all the way there to find out it wasn’t worth it.
So, what is their selection like?
I’ve been to a few other stores and I am finding I am in love with lace and mermaid style dresses.
I just worry that with “discount” in the name nothing will be stylish.
Did anyone get their dress there or have an opinion?

I’ve never been, but it was one of my top contenders because of price. I know it has great reviews on the web, so I would be interested if other bees have an experience with it.

There must be more ontarians around here.

My aunt bought her dress there! She says they’ve got a huge selection, and a lot of it is recent lines (no 1980’s pouf here!)
I personally didn’t check it out because I was already in love with a dress and they didn’t have it. But she absolutely loved it.
Just a side note – she’s pretty well off, and was willing to spend a good chunk of money on a dress, but she went there and found a GORGEOUS Alfred Angelo for like, $299. Definitely check it out!

I got my dress there and it was a great experience. they had a large selection and everything was immaculate! the dress were also in perfect shape.
i spent 499 on the dress, and 150 on veil/headpiece/bracelet/necklace/sparkly pins. all together it was 760. plus alterations of 250. but i had boning removed and the bottom part of my dress needed to have the layers redone. they were sewn at an odd angle.

Not sure where you are in Toronto area, but there is a fabulous store in Newmarket called Gown Go Round…..they sell used dressses, so definitely great for your budget. I got mine there, and it was a new dress. Turns out that bride couldnt decide so she bought 3, in varying degrees of sparkly-ness. I think they start around $200, and since they don’t have to be ordered you only need time for some alterations. i found they were all in good shape–you only wear them for a few hour anyways! Just a thought.
