We finally have our marriage license (applied for it on July 30, the town ran out, put on back order, when I went to pick it up the hydro went out the moment I touched it so the clerk couldn’t copy it, so on and so forth…). I was looking at it to get an idea of what we need to do with it and now I’m wondering…
do we actually need to sign it during the ceremony?! On the form it’s underlined and looks like it HAS to be during but I was hoping we could do it after — we’re getting married outside, by Mr. D’s dad, and I didn’t want to deal with a) lugging out a table and chairs, b) FINDING a table and chairs, and c) having everyone watch us try to do paperwork.
If we sign it after the ceremony (and I blog about it) will the Registrar General have a problem?
