Having a bit of a dilemma. At our amazing venue, the ceremony and/or reception can be lakeside, in the church or on a terrace. When you first enter, you walk past the church out to the terrace, which overlooks the lake (SO romantic), then you walk down the long balcony and down stairs out to a grass area that overlooks the lake. Originally, the plan was to have the ceremony lakeside, then go back up to the terrace for the reception. In fact, the reason we actually booked the place was because it had a lakeside location. Our wedding will be 8/17/13, with guests starting to arrive at 5, and the ceremony starting at 6.
Here is my dilemma: for one, the lakeside area where the guests will sit is facing the sun. So for the entire ceremony, my guests will have to face the sun. For two, because you walk past the terrace to go out to the lake, I kind of feel like the drama of how beautiful the terrace is will be taken away for the reception. However, lakeside is what we always dreamed about, and because the walk out is much longer than a church walk down the aisle, it will allow for the time to have my dream song play while the bridal party walks out, and my dream song to play while I walk out.
So the alternate option is to have it in the church, which is still beautiful although it isn’t what we envisioned. My “dream moment” may not be exactly as planned, but I feel like my guests will be more comfortable and there will be more “drama” to the reception. I dunno what to do.
Sorry if this seems a little trivial. Any input is greatly appreciated :).
