My wedding dress is a mid calf length dress. We are having agarden lunch wedding so its very suitable. Made from lace and is simple and elegant. My sister is my bridesmaid and ended up with a full length cream pink chiffon dress with a lace bodice that matches the lace on my dress. Its very beautiful and the colour is perfect. But is is going to be terrible that her dress is longer than mine? Mine defintely stands out as the wedding dress…..is is a strict rule that her dress be no longer than mine? thanks

Everything in weddings is “do as you please,” so if it doesn’t bother you, it will be fine. It’s your wedding, so your rules (within etiquette of course)! Personally, though, I’d want her to hem it to be shorter than mine.

not sure that there is a rule for hem length. if you have pics of you in your dress and her in hers make a collage to see how they look together. If it bothers you she can have herd shortened or get another dress.

There is no strict rule. Too many brides waste a lot of energy worrying about how other people are dressed. If you like your dress and her dress and she likes her dress, that’s all that matters.

My dress was tea length. Bridesmaid or Best Man were floor length. Looked totally fine!

If you like the combination then go with it, it does sound lovely. If you choose to make the dress shorter then the hem is a simple alteration, any professional seamstress/ tailor can do it for you.
