I just got my BEAUTIFUL invitations back! They are perfect except for one thing….
I forgot to put “Adult Reception”
The invitation suite consists of the invitation itself, a response card and a reception card
The reception card says ” We are looking forward to celebrating with you, please join us for the recpetion immediatley following”
So Now what?? There is already a reception card so how do I convey to parents that their little ones cannot come?
Is it redundant to put yet another card inside stating adults only even though there is already a card describing the recpetion?

Can you get your Bridesmaid or Best Man and parents to pass the word around? Or put it on your website if you have one? We’re not having kids, but I’m not planning on writing about it being an adult reception anywhere. As far as I’m concerned, if you want to invite an entire family you would write “The Jones Family” on their invite. If it’s mom and dad only, you’ll write “Mr & Mrs Jones”. Not all people pick up on that, I know, so maybe have the word spread quietly.

I agree with bakerella…If you word the envelope correctly I think that should do it. Mrs. and Mrs Jones versus The Jones Family. When guests respond, they should be writing in who is going, and if they write in their kids you might have to call those people and explain it’s adult only.

I agree that you should be able to get the message across by the wording on the envelope. I would assume most people understand that if the children’s names aren’t on the envelope, they aren’t invited. I would also put it on your website, and ask your parents/bridal party to spread the news!

We put it in the FAQ on our website.
If there are specific people you’re worried about, you could always have someone give them a call and a heads up a few days after invites go out.
