I’m planning on buying all the goodies for my Out of Town bags and was wondering how others did their Out of Town bags! Did you do a bag for each person? Per couple? Per room? What about single friends who were all sharing a room together? I’m planning on leaving the bags with the front desk at the hotel and want to make sure I logistically do this in a way that will be easy for them. What did you do?

I haven’t put mine together yet, but I have received a few recently! You definitely don’t need one for every person- 1 per couple is totally acceptable. Single friends should each get their own. I don’t think all bags need to be created equal, though. Hotels are pretty accomodating, and if you know of a few larger families, you may want to create slightly bigger baskets for them with their name specifically on the basket. Whatever you do, Out of Town baskets are a gift, and you aren’t required to give anything. So don’t sweat it.

I did one bag per invite, so one bag per family, couple, or single person. I hand delivered all my bags and used luggage tags to put the recipients name on the bag. This allowed me to tailor the contents of the bag to accomodate the recipient, so families got more snacks/water then say a Out of Town bag for a single person.

I did the same as Elle – one bag per invite. We were able to leave ours at the front desk and everyone received theirs at check-in.

I did it depending on the people receiving the bags. I tied little tags onto the bags saying who gets what. They all had decent sized amounts of food items inside, but I threw an extra water bottle in for the couples. I’m also going to throw more (home made!) cookies into the bags if there is more than 1 person receiving it. Married couples/couples with SO guests got one bag. My single friends (even if sharing a room) would each get their own bag even if sharing a room.

I did the same as elle…one bag per invite. I would suggest confirming with your hotel that they won’t charge a drayage fee for delivering the bags. Some places in resort towns with lots of weddings have started to charge for this service.

We did one per invite, except for the kids. They will each get their own bag.
