I am looking for a very cheap way to put together small out of town bags. I have decided on bottled water and adding my own personalized labels (DIY) but if I am keeping things limited, what are the must haves in an out of town bag? Or what would you prefer to get in a small welcome package?

I’d do schedule, map, brochure, and welcome note (all free!), plus a snack. I’d skip the water – people can get it from the tap for free.

A communication card, maps, and a schedule.
During the weekends event, there will be quit a few moments when you are away from your phone or have it off. I would give guests an alternative phone number in case something happens, like getting lost.
A map of the area would be great, you could mark the wedding sites and things of interest.
A schedule of events for the rehearsal, breakfasts, anything they might need to know where to be at what time. I seem to always forget invitations and such when I travel.

I say map, schedule, and letter are the essentials. Water and snacks are nice but not essential. I always like when the gifts represent the couple or the area.

I agree with the maps of the area, list/times of events so people know when things start, I personally love the idea of telling a little about you, your fiance, and the wedding party. I also like the idea of water and snacks…
In ours, we’re doing maps (my mom is providing those), schedule of events, info about us and our party, water, granola bar, hot chocolate mix (January wedding in MN!!), then we thought of doing things like crosswords/word searches (can make those online) or post-it notes…
You could do pretty much anything you like in them 🙂
