I’m planning on making Out of Town bags for each hotel room that my guests are staying in.

With that said, what is in those Out of Town bags?  If it’s mostly divided by family, are you really worried your family will find out about your Fiance family’s goodies?

While wedding favos are to thank guests for coming to the wedding, Out of Town bags are to thank Out of Town guests for the extra inconvenience they incurred to come.  (And provide them with some comforts…a little snack, a map, things and souveniors from the area since they’re not from there.)

Don’t think twice about it.

well, Out of Town bags are usually given in hotel rooms…so, unless anyone in your fam is staying in a hotel..i don’t see it necessary.

here’s an idea –  have your family involved with making the Out of Town bag.  If your side of the family is from there – maybe dad will want to add in a bottle of locally made wine  for your future dad-in-law to the Out of Town bag.  Or your mom can add in some locally made jam in your future mom-in-laws Out of Town bag.  Get my drift?  If you’re concerned about their jealousy…I think that if you explain what an Out of Town bag is to the fam, they’ll not find it necessary either.  if anything they just might find it to be ‘clutter.’ i mean, who needs a map of the area if you’re from there…y’know?

however, i’m sure you’ll make up for the lack of the Out of Town bag with nice gifts at the rehearsal dinner. ya?

Goodluck! 🙂

I agree with the hotel room rule, not sure if some of your family will be staying in the hotel rooms in which case it would totally fine to have bags for them too. You could also hand out the out-of-town bags say at the rehersal dinner so that everyone you really want to get one has one, that would include the FI’s family and yours too.
