Any Austin-area brides have some fun, unique ideas for out of town guest bags? I can think of plenty of little things that would be out of my budget (like getting everyone Salt Lick sauces…how awesome would that be?).
I’m hoping to keep costs around $5 a bag since we’ll have 30ish to put together, but I want to do something a little “weirder” than peanuts and water bottles.
I’d love to see your ideas!

Thanks for the suggestions. The maps and beer are a definite, but I hadn’t thought about Bluebonnet seeds. Cute idea!

A small bottle of honey, from a local company like Round Rock Honey. Love the local beer idea 🙂 512 Wit is a great light, summer beer.

Why not postcards? Or possibly something local like honey, jam, or the like?

Thanks for the great suggestions! I think I’ll definitly check out some local food goods, and I really like the post card idea. Also, I found this at a local used book store: http://placenotes.com/austin.html We might slip a few cards in each bag.

check with a visitors center; they might have goodies. if you have a AAA membership, you could look into the maps/tour books.
See what a scoop of ice cream cost, and see about a gc for Amy’s Ice Cream-a very Austin thing.
You could make your own quirky map and highlight some of your favorite things that are close to your venues/wedding happenings.
You could drop a Lamme’s pecan praline in each bag, they are individually wrapped.
