So we are having our wedding in OBX and its just going to be our immediate families. ( moms dads, sisters brothers, grandmothers and then our bridal party) its still about 35 people.
Anyways, I was thinking of making some really well stocked Welcome Bags. If if i do this, then there would be no need for separate bridesmaid/groomsmen gifts. i want to give everyone who is attending an Out of Town bag. We are paying for the entire wedding house ourselves, so i dont fee that separate gifts are necessary. All they have to do is come.
Am i wrong for thinking this way? HELP!
Thanks Bees !!

I think that a well stocked bag in addition to covering the house fee is a very nice gift. I would try to make them a bit more personalized, if possible, perhaps a hand written thank you note in each of the WP’s bags to let them know how much you appreciate it.

I definitely think the bags are a great idea, but you still want to give your BM/GM a gift for being a part of your special day. Sometimes ppl forget what they go through to make sure the day is special for you … your guests attend, that’s it.
So, IMO, if you have to take away cost from the gifts to your guests, then do so. You don’t have to get them something extravagant, just something that makes them feel special for all the hardwork they put into your day.

I don’t think that you need to purchase anything else for your BMs and Groomsmen, but I agree with @NDBee, a nice handwritten thank you note would make it complete to me. That’s what I would like best if I were a Bridesmaid or Best Man anyway.
I received a set of two glass tumblers as a gift for being in a wedding this past summer, however it has my initials engraved into them…and my initials will be different in 2012! Also, my sister accidentally broke one while washing it for me before I used them.
Personalized thank you note > One engraved glass tumbler with my pre-married initials on it. 😉
EDIT: I did want to add that I was very grateful for the gift, as the bride and groom took a lot of time and effort into purchasing them for us, however I’m more of a sentimental person and would have especially loved a thank you note.
