Hi California Brides, I am looking for suggestions for what CA specific treats I should consider for my Out of Town gift bags. This is a destination wedding for everyone, so we want to make sure we give them as many California specific items as we can. We are already planning on a 1/2 bottle of wine, custom water bottles…but I need help with some other ideas. Any brands I should look for?

Ghirardelli Chocolates. Boudin bread. See’s Candies. Rice a Roni (not really a CA brand but people relate it to SF). CA raisins (prob not a popular choice). Peet’s Coffee. Jelly Belly’s.

@SunnySquirrel: That pretty much sums up everything I was going to recommend.
Another idea would be some cheese and crackers to go with their wine. If you really want to get creative La Tortilla Factory is in that area….mmmm fresh tortillas. 😉

Rumiano’s cheese is based in nor cal, so that could be a yummy add in. Maybe postcards of different nor cal attractions, gift certificate to an in-n-out if there’s one near your wedding.
Hope these help.

I work for a Sonoma County Chamber of Commerce. There’s a CA Welcome Center in downtown Santa Rosa that sells locally made products (chocolate, jellies, etc.). La Tortilla Factory is a great Sonoma County choice. Since you’re getting married in Healdsburg then bread from Costeaux is a must! Fresh produce (tomatoes, fruit) would also be fun. Not sure how much you’re trying to buy in advance.

CA poppy seeds are a popular one too, they can grow almost anywhere, so your guests can have a lasting memory too.
ETA: Just saw that your wedding has already passed– I’d like to know too; what did you use?!?
