We are doing mini tote bags with items from Maine (where the wedding is) and CA (where I’m from).

They will have:

Natural popcorn from Maine (SO delicious)

Homemade blueberry mini bundt cakes (ME)

Blue Diamond Almonds (CA)

See’s Suckers (CA)

and 2 bottles of water.

We don’t have very many Out of Town guests but we do have a number of local people staying at the hotel the night of our wedding so we’re pretty much making “OOT” bags for them. Ours are going to include…

  • Custom “Do Not Disturb” door hanger
  • 2 bottles of water (from a local spring)
  • 2 cans of soda
  • 2 mini bottles of liquor
  • 2 plastic cups
  • A small box of locally made potato chips
  • 2 Granola bars
  • Pass to get into the day after breakfast that we’re paying for. The buffet is available to all hotel guests so they’ll need these passes to let the hotel know that their meal is paid for.
  • Emergency kit: Travel size aspirin, tums, shout wipe, bobby pins, bandaids, whatever else I come up with between now and then.
  • Thank you note.

I’m still open to adding a few more things if something really intrigues me.

We did them.

We had a reuseable tote

2 bottles of water (I made my own custom labels)

I repackaged bulk food to match in matching plastic bags that self sealed. They looked real nice. It was way cheaper than buying individual servings and looked much more expensive and pretty

pretzel rods

hershey kisses

roasted peanuts

gold fish

@lefeymw: would you mind sharing where you got the self sealing plastic bags?  Everything I have found looks too much like a ziploc to me 🙂

I would totally second the food idea if you are not staying in a all-inclusive. We stayed in an all-inclusive so we put in custom drink bottles (to keep their beverages cold), luggage tags, custom mini first aid kits, mini-photo album with photo share info attached, underwater disposable camera and a schedule of events that looked like a little passport.

I am going to Cuba for ours and I have about 17 people.  I’ve got little canvas bags and I’ve put in the following:

  1. fans for the women
  2. fortune cookie (2) with a personal message (his side is Chinese)
  3. a under-water lomolito re-loadable camera and film
  4. chocolate covered almonds in a celo bag and I made stickers with our theme and date on them to seal them
  5. sunscreen and after sun lotion that I made with our theme on them
  6. lifesavers mints (also with personalized lable).
  7. A welcome to Cuba and thank you for coming card (also in our theme) with a personal message in each that I made my fiance write!

I think that’s it, but I’m sure I’m missing something!!  It took FOREVER to get everything made (the lables) and most of the cost came from the packaging to put everything in…no to mention what it will cost me to lug it all down there!!

I am getting married in beaches negril in July 2012. I have weclome bag with beach towel, welcome note and camera for all to take pictures for us, in stead of paying for alot of pictures. I just hope customs doesnt give me a hard time or charge alot. The place is so expensive for decorations, I am thinking since I gotta pay $250 set up fee, I should bring my own decorations for gazebo & wands for exit.
