I’m not a huge drinker, but I would take open bar over favors 🙂 If a favor is anything but food I would probably trash it (sorry!) and if it was edible I would eat it before I even left the reception haha!

Personally as a guest I think I’d rather have an open bar.  But then again I’m a bit of a drinker *hic* 😉

Plus, you can always put a little sign on the escort card table, or on individual tables that says you made a donation in lieu of favors (and no, it doesn’t have to be $200 for 200 guests). Good luck!

OPEN BAR x1,000,000

Favors = something that takes me two seconds to eat or something I throw away.

I would hands down prefer an open bar to getting a favor. Favors are fine and all, I know a lot of people put real effort into them, but as a guest I rarely give them a second thought. I do, however, like to have a few drinks, expecially at a party.

I have been to countless weddings where people just leave the favors on the table, and it always makes me feel bad for the couple who likely spent a decent about of money on them.

So I would definitely say go for the bar.
