I think this is totally fine.

Also totally fine if you just do open beer/liquor and don’t even worry about the other options, cash or not.

THat is what ours is. BUT it’s also an afternoon ceremony so I think it will be plenty. After much reading on the bee I did add a signature cocktail though.

totally fine in my opinion if you can’t swing a full open bar. I’ve even been to weddings that only had open beer/wine bar and didn’t have any liquor. I was also totally fine with this, too.

Yes, that is exactly what we are doing too.  I think people are happy to get any sort of free drinks and hopefully it will cut down a bit on people getting super drunk.

Most of the weddings i’ve been to recently were beer and wine only, and it was just fine. Everyone was having a great time, and nobody was hammered. A lot of venues (in these parts anyway) have no hard liquor policies anyway, or charge a huge fee. So we’ll probably be going beer and wine only.

That is what I am doing.  After asking a few of my friends about it, they made a good point by saying that most people just want to drink for free, it doesnt matter if the drinks are liquor, beer, or wine.  I don’t want a bunch of overly drunk people at my wedding, its a lot easier to get drunk from liquor and I know a few people who act a damn fool when they drink liquor, so beer and wine it is!  Wink

@nikki_s2468:  yes, this is great.

I’m the one who has declared loudly that I will NOT be attending any more family weddings held on Saturday night due to the lack of alcohol.

But wine is fine. A cash bar–that’s great for those who wish to drink more. I would probably pay for a few wines in a long evening.

And my personal opinion about signature cocktails is: they are silly and unnecessary. Just give me a reasonable red wine, don’t expect me to drink your fruity ridiculously named concoction, it will probably make me puke. Thanks.
