I did this, but unfortunately nobody handed out my litte cards that showed all the information until most people were gone, and a lot of people forgot their cameras.  I was really upset because I thought everybody would do this and it was a great idea.  My programs were already printed up and I couldn’t get the info on them, so I made up cards, but that probably would have been a smart idea to do it on the programs!  Even though I didn’t have any success, I still think it is a great idea!!

I did this. My preferred online photo album site is picasa (mostly for the ability to download entire albums of high-res images in one click). But I felt like their software/interface might be a little complicated for some. I didn’t want them to have to install anything on their computer in order to do it.

I liked shutterfly for the sold reason that you can customize your site with a personalized web address.

I created a funny site name, and also shutterfly username/password (username corresponded w/ the site name, password was our reception location name.)

I didn’t get around to making cards to hand out at the wedding. But I did send an email to everyone afterwards with the link.

I got LOTS of fabulous pictures.

i love this idea – and have thought about it – so people can upload their photos to shutterfly? is it on the share sites page?

I did this– the problem I didn’t take in to account was that you can only upload a certain amount of photos/data per month. So although the idea sounded good, it was a major flop. After my cousin had uploaded all of her photos, our account wouldn’t let us load anything else for another month!! By that time, everyone had forgotten about it.

@greeneyes_320: Did you use a shutterfly share site or just your regular shutterfly account?

I believe the share sites have no limit. (I didn’t encounter that problem w/ mine.)

I am doing this as well – but we are actually putting the info in their welcome bags or inside of their wedding favor (a mini-jamaican pottery piece – vase etc… ) (wedding is in jamaica)  We haven’t decided which is a better place to put it yet!

@Theresa—You know, I’m really not sure, I think it was the shutterfly site. It was a very last minute idea and it’s possible that I didn’t look in to it close enough. Wish I would have known about the share site!! Oh well =)

@Lanese919:

The share sites are different from your own personal shutterfly. It’s a site meant to be uploaded to by many different users.  (If they have their own shutterfly account, they can log in and upload to your share site through their own username. I created one for people who didn’t have one or didn’t want to sign up for one.

When you create your share site you get to give it a personal url.

For example, you could have it be: Lanese919.shutterfly.com

Check it out here. It also has spots for wedding registries, hotel info, event info, etc. It’s pretty cool.
