So, the reason I’m posting here, as opposed to a blog is because I could NEVER get the kind of encouragement from bloggers that I can from all of you lovely ladies!
Who am I? A girl waiting to get engaged to my love this summer! What’s my plan? To get healthy! That’s right y’all, it’s time for me to get my act together and get healthy! The first stage of my first Operation: Engagement is already complete! The ring is purchased…so now it’s time for the first week of Operation: Weight Loss! It’s been a whole week and these are the changes I’ve made so far:
– Completely cut out soda from my diet, I’ve never peed so much in my life, I feel like! Either it’s the incredibly amount of water I’ve been drinking, or I just have an abnormally tiny bladder…
– No more sweets for me! I feel like a bunny rabbit with all of the fruits and veggies I’ve started eating…
– I’ve turned into a salad machine…yes, that’s right.
– For the past five days straight, I’ve exercised on the Wii for a half an hour each day…doing what? Just dance! My favorite thing EVER because it feels like it goes by SO FAST!
Why am I sharing this with all of you? Because I’m excited and I think that there are others out there that could use some words of encouragement too! My plan and hope is to try and post every Friday or Saturday to let everyone know how I’m doing or get some words of encouragement 🙂 Thank you all for all your advice and support!
Now for the stats:
Starting weight this week: 341
Ending weight this week: 335
I think that’s a good start! Don’t you? 🙂

Congrats! Recommended healthy weight loss is about 2 pounds a week. I love your positive outlook!! Keep it up and I’ll be following you!

@Amberrw: thanks so much hun!! and yea, I know about the two pounds…I think because I’m so heavy, it’s going to come off a little faster in the beginning but I’m sure it’ll slow down…maybe I should be doing some pictures with it? Some before pics maybe? 🙂 thanks for the support! It’s always nice to have other ladies there to encourage you!

You are correct… as you are larger, you will lose more than 2lb a week initially, and this is perfectly normal. As you approach an average weight for your height, however, you should aim for a healthy weight loss of 1-2lb per week. Anything more than that is likely to be muscle wastage.

Good for you! It’s awesome you lost so much in one week – it will slow down, but if you keep going it will eventually come off!
I’m restarting my weight loss journey again this week – in total I’ve lost over 60 pounds, but sort of fell off the wagon for a bit. Trying to get back on now – I have cut out soda – which is a killer for me too, I was drinking 3 cans of diet each day (literally, was like an addiction for me), now haven’t had one in almost 3 weeks! 🙂 I wish you the best of luck – If you need any additional encouragement, feel free to PM me, I’d love to help!

Congrats! What a fantastic start and great changes! Finding a way to workout that you enjoy is half the battle – I watch old episodes of the biggest loser while I use my bike, definitely motivates me that extra bit!!

DEFINITELY take before pictures… it will really help you stay motivated later on when the weight loss starts to slow down or if you hit a plateau.
