I think its a cute idea, but chairs are necessary for those who may have trouble getting up and down. If you google image search your idea you will find examples!

I think blankets are a wonderful idea, but only in addition to more traditional seating. Some female guests may have a hard time finding a comfortable, decent position to sit in if they are wearing a slim dress. I’d suggest hay bales (cover them with quilts or blankets) or benches for guests to sit on.

Would the chairs be in front? Its a SUPER cute idea but when I try to imagine it I see my vision being blocked by people in the chairs.

In theory fun, but the people I would want towards the front (older family members) would be the people who needed chairs and I wouldn’t want to block other peoples view. I also tend to not sit on the ground very lady like so make sure people know there will be seating on thr ground so they wear clothes they can do that in without flashing the world.

@Beautiful Bluegrass:  This!

My elder folks would need to sit in front to truly see what was happening but it would block others views. Also I would worry as a woman in a dress and inevitably heels the whole time if I was flashing y’all/photographer the goods.

I love the idea of a casual sit down area only if the vision isnt blocked and your guests can either dress super casual/are given additional blankets to keep stuff covered. The covered hay bales may be a great compromise!
