Hi Bees –
This is not for my own wedding, but for one of my best friends who is getting married this summer.
We (the bridesmaids, of which there are 5 of us) picked out this bridesmaid dress and the bride picked this color called caribbean blue (picture below). We only saw the tiny color swatch in person but we were all fine with that color.
My friend is getting married at a beautiful venue along the lakefront and she doesn’t really have a theme per se, but all her colors were ocean-y, beachy colors.
Now she wants to change everything and go with a completely different color scheme. She wants to change the color to azelea (photo below).
We haven’t seen this color in person either, only the little swatch. I know it’s her wedding and up to her, but a couple of the bridesmaids aren’t crazy about the color and like the caribbean blue better. In fact, it’s divided and I am the lone holdout.
So I thought I would ask what the Bees like. My friend doesn’t want to ‘make’ us wear an ugly color. She changed her mind because she saw some bouquets that she really liked.
So which color do you prefer?

@SnowInApril: I’m partial to the turquoise/blue one because it’s my favorite color. I think either would look nice.

I actually like the pink. I would be more likely to wear that color afterward if I shortened the dress, especially since that blue is so popular right now

I actually really like the Azelea. While the blue is pretty (one of my favorite colors), it might be too much with the beach setting and the other water themed aspects. I think it would make a beautiful complementary color!

I think they are both gorgeous, fun colors, and I wouldn’t mind wearing either one.

I much prefer the azalea.

i’d wear whatever the bride wanted. honestly, its not likely the bridesmaids will wear either dress again anyway and there will never be the perfect dress/color combo that will flatter everyone in the bridal party.

I love the Azalea more. The Turquoise for me is a little too loud, almost overpowering.

I like the Azalea more. I love that color pink. Also I would go with whatever the bride wants and prefers. Its not like its an ugly color. It’s better then puke green or mustard yellow. lol Let the bride make the final decision on what the dresses should be. 🙂

I like the turquoise better, but would wear whatever color the bride wanted. I wouldn’t be likely to wear either dress after the wedding.

I think it’s her decision and your friends should suck it up. Both colours are nice.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone!
I should have elaborated in my original post (didn’t for lack of time) that the most vocal one that wants to keep the caribbean blue is the Maid/Matron of Honor, which is the bride’s sister. The reason she wants to keep the blue color is because she doesn’t think the azalea will look right with her complexion (strawberry blonde hair color, light, freckled skin). The other one that wants to keep the blue is a friend that has blonde hair and blue eyes and too doesn’t think that shade will work on her either.
I like both colors and I think both would like nice on me, but I am liking the azalea a bit more because I have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes.
I don’t think there’s a color that will absolutely work with everyone’s skin tone and hair color.
My friend is really leaning toward the azalea despite her sister’s feelings. Looks like the majority of votes like it too.

I prefer the blue, but I would honestly never wear either again anyway, so I’d just let the bride pick.
