@militarybride1103: Wow! Thank you so much everyone for all the helpful opinions and advice! My fiance and I really appreciate it and it helped us make the decision to have it at the rehearsal dinner instead of at the reception and to be sure to keep it to no longer than 5 or so minutes. Thank you thank you thank you everyone!

I was just at my niece’s wedding and she had a slide show at her reception. I thought it was a very neat idea. Her slide show included photos of her growing up and him growing up and then slides showing the two of them dating, etc., They played this very short slide show right before the bride danced with her dad. It really touched me. And everyone is still talking about how sweet the slide show was.
If you do it at the rehearsal, I’d recommend just having it shown and repeating itself. I think at the rehearsal dinner, most people will just be talking and won’t focus too much on it. Unless of course, you announce that you’re showing it and then have people stop and watch it for a few short minutes. Not too long of one.
Good luck and enjoy your day!

i went to a wedding that showed pics of the bride throughout childhood during her dance with her father, pics of the groom during he and his mom’s dance, and pics from the couple’s relationship during their dance. it was really great because the dances can get a bit boring IMO, plus my Fiance and i dont love being the center od attention so we will enjoy having people not just staring at us.
