CHristine2809: I definitely agree with you! The only pedestal vase I could find in my neighborhood was 8-inches in diameter. I think I’ll end up doing 6-inch diameter ones online for way cheaper and then use less flowers. This giant one used 15 hydrangeas, 18 roses, some leaves and only a fraction of the bunch of baby’s breath. I might use half carnations and half hydrangeas to keep costs down but still get a full look.

They’re very nicely done. I would like them better without the babies breath, though…just a personal preference of course.

Peanut-Sue: I’m not 100% sold on the baby’s breath either, it was just the only filler I had. Any recommendations? Maybe just white or pink stock?

esaints2: what’s stock lol? I like just the hydrangeas & the roses…but that’s what I had so I’m biased 🙂 oh I guess I had some green stuff in there too!

Peanut-Sue: I love the size of your smaller centerpieces! They look perfect with the candleholders. I’m planning to use a few as well. Stock is this:

I think they are stunning, but I think it would look better without the babies breath.

Update: My fmil found a florist with great reviews who will do exactly what I want for less than what I budgeted! I’m waiting on the final quote now. Looks like I won’t be doing the DIY flowers after all. If there are any brides in SoCal, I’m more than happy to share the vendor info. Thanks, all!

esaints2: You did a great job- I would not have known they were not professional!! But doing your own flowers would be really time consuming (45 mins x 10 centerpieces). I’m glad you found something that would work for you!

esaints2: Yesss! Im so excited about this board. I too want to keep the cost down especially for decorations/floral. I loooooved what you did on your first try. If it was me I would probably removed the leaves (green leaf) sticking out.
