Just looking for some input on my OPKs. Here’s the situation:
- This is typically what I’ve been seeing. Last month, however, I got a better positive- the test line was clearly darker.
- I have tested 2 and 3 times a day in past months. There seems to be only a very small window in the late afternoon when I’ll get a test line this dark.
- My temperature rise is pretty predictable- I expect it to happen the morning after next.
So my questions are.. would you call this a positive based on the appearance of the test line alone? Would you call it a positive combined with the other information above? Does anyone else get similar results with Wondfos? Thanks for the help!

I think it depends, technically the line is not as dark or darker than the control line, so it’s not considered positive. However, some don’t seem to get the line that dark ever.
That being said, this line looks pretty dark and if it were mine, I would expect to O pretty soon. Are you temping? That will help to confirm exatly when you O. Good luck!

Spinwife: Thanks. Yeah, for awhile I wasn’t getting anything near this but then I started seeing lines this dark followed by a temp rise soon after. But I guess I wouldn’t exactly consider it positive either.

Tmpalm: It’s not positive but it’s close to it. Maybe you have a short surge and you miss it by a few hours each month. Either way, if you temperature goes up 1-2 days later it’s safe to say you have ovulated!

Tmpalm: Not quite a positive test, close but not positive. Do you check your cervical mucus? How does it look like? That’s another primary sign that can sure help.

Tmpalm: No, that’s not consider positive. However, that doesn’t mean you don’t ovulate. Some women never have a huge surge that makes the wondfo opk turn positive, yet they still get pregnant. On the flip side, you might not be having a strong enough surge to ovulate. Have you had a CD 21 (or 7dpo) blood test done yet?

Technically it’s not considered a positive, but that’s about as dark as mine ever got and I got pregnant, so I know I O’d lol.

I used the clearblue digital ovulation kit and the wondfo pregnancy test strips, I have heard good things about the OPKs too…but I think they require some practice reading the lines…getting used to when the “darkest” line is…the clearblue were really straight forward!

Thanks for the input everyone!
candy11: I’m still getting the hang of distinguishing types of CM. Haven’t had a lot this month, though.
CocoLoco523: No, I don’t really know anything about the CD21 blood test. Could this tell me for sure if I’ve ovulated? Is it only done after some time TTC?
Westwood: Haha, awesome- that gives me some hope!!!
SZ61507: Yeah, maybe I’ll try the clearblue too just to compare!

Tmpalm: The CD 21 (or 7dpo if you don’t typically ovulate on CD 14) progesterone test looks to see if you ovulated. If you get a value about 3, that is indicative of ovulation. However, most doctors want to see above 10 to confirm a “strong” ovulation. I’m not sure if you have to be trying for any specific amount of time.

CocoLoco523: Thanks for the info. That’s definitely something I’ll ask my doctor about!

Tmpalm: Even if you don’t recognize CM, it’s a good idea to mark when you get the most of it. Are you taking more OPKs today?

candy11: Yup, I tested some more yesterday and today and the lines are much more faint. I think that’s the darkest I’ll get this month!

Tmpalm: Hmmm, so my guess is that you either had your LH surge right before you took this one or a little after. Hope you got lots of BD! You should know in a few days when your temps start to rise.

candy11: Thanks for your help! DH is away this week so I’m really hoping the timing works out and that was, in fact, my surge. We made sure to BD plenty before he left
