I tried on wedding dresses today and I found one I really love but I am not sure about it. The one I tried is several sizes too small. The lady at the shop told me the skirt will fall a little lower so I am afraid that since I am plus size, it will not look good and I will look pregnant or something. Please give me your honest opinion. I can not find any plus size pics of girls wearing dresses similiar to this so I don’t know how it will look on a plus size girl.

It’s pretty, shows off your curves! Is the back a corset?

I think this is flattering. For me, I would never get a dress that i could not try on the correct size before spent $ though. But if your size in the dress looks this good then it will be perfect 🙂

I think it looks great! Its very flattering! How did you FEEL in it!? If you felt amazing, then it is amazing…at least in my opinion.

VERY flattering dress that looks beautiful on you!

I think the dress is very pretty on you. With regard to the skirt falling lower in your size, I should think they can take it up if you feel it doesn’t suit you. Once you get the dress in your size and have the bodice fitted, you will look beautiful!

I have larger hips/butt and my consultant advised me not to wear anything that hit on my hips/butt. Its something I’m insecure about so I made sure to stay away from dresses that have that broach style to them (although there are many out there and they are really pretty). If you’re ok with it, I think its a really lovely dress (especially the top). Those styles just really draw a lot of attention to the hip area.

I am sorry to disagree with everyone, but I don’t think it’s a flattering style for your body shape. The tightness around the lower stomach area draws attention to the belly, and if the skirt falls even lower on your size, it will only be emphasised more. I would go with something that is fitted to just below the natural waist – there are so many dresses in this style out there, you just need to find one where the tightness finishes a bit higher on your waist. Keep looking!

It’s a really pretty dress, but I do think something with a higher waist would give you a sleeker silhouette. Or, if you want to stay fitted into the hips and rock the curves, what about a trumpet?

I agree with cherryshake – sorry 🙁 when you find the right dress you’ll know, the fact you said you weren’t sure about it tells me it’s not the dress for you – you need to put one on that makes you feel like a princess for sure!
Good luck xx

I agree with cherryshake – sorry. I think the rouching around the middle shows your belly, and I don’t think all dresses will do that. The bust seems stiff with the beading, which will hold it away from your bust, whereas if you go with something softer it will hug your curves. It’s also not great around the hips – there’s just enough space to suggest your hips are bigger than they are. If you go with something really fitted it will make your curves look good. If you go with something fuller no one will notice what size your hips are (big or small). The halfway in between look doesn’t work for anyone. Adding sizes rarely adds much in the way of height, so I’m surprised the consultant would tell you that. I know you can find a dress that will be just as pretty and rock your curves.

It’s a gorgeous dress! Don’t buy it until you are able to try on the correct size, even if that means tracking it down to another shop either where you live or within driving distance.
