patchm :  honestly this dress is way too much dress for you. Can’t imagine the other one looking proper on you. Everyone’s going to be looking at the dress not you.

The dress itself is beautiful! IMO however, I don’t think you should go with that one. You’re going to be swallowed by the dress and instead of looking elegant, it’s going to look heavy and bulky. If you want a ball gown, go for something with chiffon or tulle instead of satin/silk. It’ll give you the look you want but won’t appear to weigh you down.

I just want to say…i can’t wait to see your recap! The church is stunning and I love older home/Victorian style houses!

As far as the dress..its huge, and will definitely make a statement. If it’s what you want, go for it!

Keep in mind that the original model is either on a pedestal or has artificial Barbie legs because the bottom is not in proportion to the top. It’s a gorgeous dress, but even in the second round of pictures the skirt looks enormous. Not necessarily a bad thing, but think about the spaces you need to fit through and whether you want to be able to dance closer than 3 feet from your Darling Husband.

Yes do bear in mind what echomomm said  about the model picture, she is not only stick thin, but has got to  be standing on a pedestal and it will not look like that on you ( or any normal  non pedestaled person lol)

But if you get it ,  for heavens sake wear it all day and night , don’t go getting some lesser thing for the reception , having  worn that amazing creation- which was fifteen hundred dollars over budget before alterations –   for no more than  2 hours or so. !

The model will probably be way taller than you, remember that! There will be less skirt length than what she has on if you decide to go for the dress.

However I do think it’s a beautiful dress and will certainly wow everybody whether they actually like the dress or not 😉

I hope you don’t  feel too deflated /disappointed to be letting  go your ‘dream dress’.

I think if you go for tulle or some equally light fabric you may be able to get the  big, big skirt and still be  mobile .  Keep us posted!

I don’t care what the bees think and I didn’t care what they thought when I chose my dress. It was a huge ball gown about this size with a 9-foot train. Yes, it was impractical. Yes, it was expensive. Yes, I am a small person. BUT I LOVED IT AND I STILL LOVE IT. On your wedding day don’t you want people to look at your dress!?

If you wear this dress definitely buy a comfortable reception dress, but anyone can be uncomfortable for an hour or two during the ceremony, photos, and dance. Don’t worry about that part. Yes, do have one person assigned to following you until you change out of this dress.
