I refuse to do favors – I think they are pointless.

I would like to give favours however the problem im having is deciding on one that the majority of people will like.  Our idea was to give out spruce tree saplings, wrapped in small burlap bags and twine.  Also, I doubt that couples need or want to go home with TWO trees.  Im thinking maybe alternating a spruce tree and a little box of chocolates per couple.  Still cant decide, im having a tough time with this topic too. I asked Fiance if we could scrap the favour idea but he said its not the best idea so…

Unless they’re edible, which I doubt people need after a 5-hour reception, I think they get left on the tables. The last wedding I went to had food to go, as we left, including a candy bar, little bottles of champagne, etc.

We’re getting chocolate from a company on the island where we met and went to school.  If they get left behind, more chocolate for us!

I would not even notice if a wedding I went to didn’t have favors. To be honest, I always kind of feel awkward when there are favors because I never know what to do with them but feel awkward about not taking them.

We did favors, but if I had to do it again I wouldn’t. A lot of them got left behind.

I think they are kind of a waste of money and no one really saves them. I would get people wedding favors if I was actually giving them something useful, but I can’t think of that, so I am saying no to favors for us.

Flow:   We’re giving fancy dark chocolate truffles in boxes for our guests.

Instead of favors, we ordered simple white 4″x4″ cardboard boxes so that guests could take home pieces of our wedding cake in them. That way we didn’t have a mountain of cake to throw away at the end of the night. Our guests loved it and the cateror took care of cutting and boxing the cake after they were done serving.

We are doing koozies. That way everyone can use them during the reception!! I can also pass them out to friends after the wedding or use them for backyard BBQs.
