Awww.  Maybe he was trying in his own way to find something to distract him from his disappointment too?  I think it would be okay to explain how you’re feeling and that it would help you get over the disappointment if you two could plan something special that day.  Maybe (if the concert’s important to him) you guys could have a luxurious brunch and then you could set up a night out with your girlfriends while he goes to the concert.  There’s lots of ways to resolve this, just be open about your feelings, and stay open to his.

I say make a point to plan a FABULOUS day with your girlfriends and get this date out of your head, too. I can understand being sad, but distraction is good medicine!

This is a tough one. However, it may make you even more upset spending it together. You may be like, ” We would have been doing this right now or we would have been dancing with our guests, etc..”

So let him enjoy his plans, and you make sure to do something that you’ll absolutely love doing.

Hmm..I think I would be less pissed about the day, and more pissed that you postponed it due to money, yet he spent money on tickets for a concert he’s already seen.
