- Wedding: October 2012
Alrighty, my wedding is going to take place at a really modern location, the building is modern, the art on display is modern…I just love it! But, I am into vintage things, so I am working on coming up with ways to combine the two together. I have a strange feeling my wedding is just going to be a clash of ideas that are really personal lol. I don’t want to be tacky, but I want this wedding to reflect both of us.
Here’s one of my ideas. I am obsessed, and I do mean obsessed with vintage typewriters, I own at least 5, most likely more. I hoard them I think! lol But, I have one in particular that is my favorite and I want to use it in my wedding. I found these really cute place card holders from weddingstar magazine, they are made to look like a typewriter. I was going to use them as favors and have them sitting on the table with my typewriter with something cute written up asking them to leave a note, advice for the happy couple, cute stuff like that. Weddingstar magazine also has these cute cards with typewriter keys that you can personalize. So there’s one thing.
Then I am into owls, vintage really neat looking owls. I hoard them also lol! I’ve got tons, I want to in-cooperate them into my centerpieces, but it could get tricky and I may just opt for an owl on my cake or something instead.
As for my fiance, he’s a mega movie buff and a total nerd (love that so much about him!!) So we are naming our tables after horror movies, and he’s getting a grooms cake. I’d also really like to make our wedding program a comic book.
So as you can see I have a lot of conflicting ideas, style clashes, border line cheese fest. But I like every idea so much I don’t want to part with it! Should weddings be personal, or sterile, beauty can be eclectic and a mesh up of stuff i think….What are some of your opinions? I wont be offended! Anything is welcome even if you say “whoa girl back it down!!! Too much!” lol
