If you do a fairly cool red for the bowties (almost berry)and you have a few red flowers like in your last picture I think it will look nice as a subtle accent.

You could also add a matching ribbon to the bridesmaids bouquets which I think would really tie it in really nicely.

Yes – PPs suggestion to use a darker, more berry shade of red is good – much more complimentary

the bright crimson is too clashy again the blue

I’m also considering red accents because it’s my partner’s favourite colour with blue (although mine’s a pale blue).

Another vote for Berry shades here 🙂

I think it’s all about using different shades and not being too “matchy” especially since you’re going for the whole rainbow vibe in the flowers. Personally I wouldn’t worry about trying to match the flowers to the ties / dresses. If the bouts match the bouquets that will tie it in.

We had “bright autumnal” as our colour scheme. The dresses (“spiced coral”) and ties (orange) would probably have clashed quite badly if it hadn’t been for the flowers. I had planned on more different colours but c’est la vie.

I agree with the other pp’s.  A darker red like wine, burgundy or cranberry would compliment that shade of blue.
