1) I think it looks beautiful. I would ask the MUA not to carry the highlight all the way down to the tip of your nose, to keep it only on the bridge. The ombré lip color is gorgeous on you, perhaps it faded on the edges before you took the actual pics, but Mac usually has lip liners to match their colors, so using it underneath the lacquer may help it last longer.
2) Another cool “trick” is to use a single ply of tissue to cover the entire lip, don’t pout, but smile a little and dust translucent powder all over the lip out to the edges. This can be repeated several times to get truly kiss proof lips. This works for lipstick and pencils, not familiar with the “lacquer” formula though.
3) Your cheekbones are stunning and I don’t think they need as much blush to make them pop as the rest of us do. Your lip and eye looks are fairly dramatic, so I think she could use a lighter hand with the blush.
You’d still be a knock out if you didn’t change a single thing. It’s a beautiful makeup job.
Wow! Thank you for all the feedback and lovely compliments!!
I’m blushing over here…
I really was happy with the way my makeup turned out. She is pretty talented and really evened out my kind of crooked eyebrows…which was a shock for me.
As far at the lip color- I noticed that too. A couple of these photos are taken almost 2 hours after the lip laquer was applied, but I see that being an issue to. I think I might have to try my Rebellious liner and Diva lipstick instead…I do think that combination will result in a slightly less BOLD look and downplay that worn off look of the laquer. I kissed my man quite a bit last night and I noticed even this “Kiss Proof” laquer was rubbing off on him (it was totally dry and non-transferable at first) but after I had dinner, it started breaking down a bit and it started coming off…So whats the point in that? I think the lip liner and lipstick will just be easier to touch up. Plus, I noticed the laquer got really grainy when I tried to blend it in again after I noticed some areas started fading. So…yeah. I’ll have to post a picture of the liner/lipstick combo that I have and see what you gals think.
As for my dress- Here it is for reference:
after seeing your dress, I am pushing for a softer lip color. Berry or even a light soft beige pink like mac angel. Something you can reapply and that won’t get cakey throughout the day. I’m a prof MUA who specializes in on camera make up, and you are better off maintaining control of make up than dealing with something you can’t blend or fix in a hurry. (I deal in on camera risk assessment lol)
I would also do a bit more smudging on lower liner, a softer line is better, and take a q tip to it after that because lower liner can make the under eye area look dark esp on video that isn’t in a studio /prof situation with soft lights. I’d also lose the highlight in the nose all together, just do contouring on sides.
all of that said, these are minor things, she’s very talented and you are in good hands!
Looks awesome! The contouring is noticeable, but barely which is what you want. PS did she try to cover up your beatuy mark? I say accent it!
Think the contouring is way too harsh… I would ask to smoothe it out a little, especially less highlight on your nose as it turned out very shiny. The rest is pretty. Your lips looks amazing!
holy guac, I don’t think people are 100% in the know when it comes to lipstick application. If you taper off the edges it accounts for different lip shapes. Some people if you go all the way to the corner look hideous. It’s all in making your lips look as though they are the correct shape when your mouth is closed. Red is an unforgiving colour when it comes to application and she did a FANTASTIC job, it’s very easy to come away looking like the joker. I love that colour, you are going to rock it!
Ok girlies- here is the other MAC lip liner and lipstick in more of a berry color I bought and was considering wearing.
So, my question is- the deep red laquer from the full trial or the Diva Lipstick with Rebellious liner To complete my look?
Please keep in mind that I have no other makeup on in these photos, whereas yesterday I had layers of it on!
i consider myself pretty good at doing makeup too, as a fine arts major, I have learned what it means to blend, shade, and contour, however, isn’t the point to sit back and enjoy getting pampered and beautified? Ah!! I can’t wait!
BTW- the big day is coming up in 2.5 weeks!! March 12 will be here before I know it!!
stunning… i love a red lip
