So clearly this woman has never seen an ivory dress with blingy sashes? They have silver elements, and nobody says boo about it. I think they look completely fine together. In fact, I would have never event thought anything of the combination until you asked. Go for it!

How she can say it looks bad when your gown has elements of silver I don’t know. She’s obviously someone you shouldn’t be taking fashion tips from.

@ALM17:  I love both of the choices! I don’t see how they would clash. The only reason I didn’t go with grey tuxes is because my wedding dress sash is beige.

When you first mentioned ivory and silver, in my mind the colors did clash, but only because ivory is a shade of white known to have gold undertones, meaning that the woman who told you so was implying that gold and silver do not go together, as they don’t. However, taking into account that the tux is indeed grey, not silver, what this woman said was incredibly rude. In your picture, I think the colors look lovely.
